Hashmask Project: 16,384 Unique Digital Portraits

The Hashmask project presents an initiative with over 70 artists who collaborated to make 16,384 unique digital portraits. Brought to you by Suum Cuique Labs based in Switzerland. By holding the artwork, you accumulate the NCT token on a daily basis, allowing you to choose a name for your portrait on the Ethereum blockchain.

Historically speaking, and according to the Mashmask Manifesto, our view of art has not evolved much since the ancient times, when emperors would commission artists to create pompous portraits of themselves. The artist creates the art and the consumer consumes it. Leonardo Da Vinci created the Mona Lisa. Edvard Munch created the Scream. And Andy Warhol created the Marilyn Diptych.

The consumer can observe the piece in an exhibition or buy it. The roles are clearly defined and separated. Hashmasks remove this separating line between the artist and the consumer and merges both into the art piece itself. Over 70 artists globally collaborated to create this collection of 16,384 unique characters, but the art is not finished here, yet. Unlike traditional art, the baton of responsibility is handed over to you, who gets the right and privilege to add his or her unique touch to this everchanging canvas.

The first big sale we saw last week when DANNY @seedphrase bought a Hashmask of mystical halo demon for 420 ETH $650,000 at the time of purchase.
